DNC Party Platform Reviewed Part I

I took a look at the DNC website today to see what they were up to for the 2006 midterms. I really wanted to see what plan they had and if they really had a detailed plan. I also took a look at the RNC to see what they had for a plan for the American people. Seeing that we do not have a strong third party in the states I will not bother to look at the other parties as they have no chance in hell to win in 2006...

Newt Gingrich Has Said Some Interesting Things, But This Wasn’t One of Them

Newt is an interesting guy. An ordinary man who engineered, through his ‘Contract With America,’ a stunning takeover of bi-partisan government and then pissed it all away. If you round up the usual suspects, personal hubris is right there at the top of the pile. A great thing about America is that it lays low those whose high and mighty is higher and mightier than it ought to be. Newt was leveled big-time, having lost it all and since clawed his way back into the public eye.

Morality Transcends Religion - Breaking Political Myths

Article discusses basic human morals that exist beyond a belief in God which explains both why people of faith may act immoral and in ways absolutely not condoned by their faith, and why people who don't believe in God can have strict non-faith-based morals that guide them.

Protecting American Citizens from Domestic Enemies

What can I say America concerning the current events of the war between Israel and Hezbollah/Shiites? This is truly a war because both sides are using bombs and gun fire. Israel is hitting everything in Lebanon and Hezbollah from Lebanon is hitting everything in Israel.

Defending the Right to Hate

The Westboro Baptist Church stages protests at the funerals of our military men and women killed in Afghanistan and Iraq because they believe God is mad at the United States and is therefore killing our soldiers. While their actions are morally reprehensible, their actions are protected under the rights of freedom of speech and assembly.

Mightier Than the Sword

With two strokes of a pen, the thinking citizens of the United States of America will: 1.) Earn the gratitude, respect and admiration of the civilized world. 2.) Reduce global violence to less than half its current level. 3.) Provide meaningful aid to the poorest among our global community -and much, much more.

Raising Air Tax Only Hurts The Poor

The British Governement announced they want to increase air tax five-fold because of the increase of air traffic carbon emissions. Whilst any attempt at curbing global warming is great, this is the wrong way to go about it.

The Press - An Enemy Of The People

One of the big question of society is that does the press serve more good than bad or more bad than good. Well here are a few issues that might surprise you.

I See Human People

Seeing the homeless as a nuisance increases hate crimes in Texas.

Let Us Give it Up for Condoleezza Rice; 15-0 UN Cease Fire Vote

Well it looks like after over a month worth of fighting between Hezbollah and Israel in Lebanon that we have a cease-fire agreement from the United Nations and to Dr. Rice's credit a 15-0 vote at the United Nations Security Council. Impressive would be the word of the day.

A Second Look at the War on Terror

It was the headline seen on websites around the world—“Airlines Terror Plot Disrupted.” Westerners awakened on August 10th to the news that a terrorist plot of possibly unprecedented proportions had been planned for planes from the U.K. heading to the U.S. Scotland Yard reported that the diabolical plan called for “mass murder on an unimaginable scale.”

Sore Loserman or Boltin' Joe?

With Ned Lamont victorious in the Democratic Senate Primary in New Hampshire, what does Joe Lieberman's choice to run in November as an independent say about him? What does it say about the party system? And what will be its impact on the democratic process in the United States?

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad: A Great Danger to the World

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad combines charisma, vision, and determination to pose an increasing danger to the Middle East and beyond. When he articulates a vision of a world without Israel or the United States, he means what he says. With Iran maintaining its pursuit of nuclear weapons, it is important that the world understands who Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is and the rising danger he presents.

Say Hello to the Neo-McGovernites

I almost ignored anti-war Ned Lamont’s win over pro-war Joe Lieberman in the Connecticut primary last night until I got a load of two of Lamont’s cadre of celebrants. Directly behind a smiling Lamont were Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton – two of the most divisive, opportunistic, and race-baiting individuals that contemporary politics has spawned. Somewhere in the distance, I could almost hear the faint whisper of Jackson’s “Hymietown” or Sharpton’s fixation on New York “diamond merchants.”

Stop Driving and Start Drinking

We can put up with all the crap in this world because we are used to it. What we can’t put up with is the exorbitant cost of gasoline. It’s driving us to drink!
