Bottom Feeder Politics & Media Oversight

It's time to force some advsetising rules on political parties. The Foley scandal is a prime example of bottom-feeder politics.

Human Rights And Ukraine

On the session of the United Nations that took place in 1948, there was accepted the Overall Declaration of Human Rights. It had the greatest influence on the development of the human rights all over the World. The development of the humanitarian law was found in such documents as English and American Bill of Rights, the French Manifest of the Rights and Freedoms of Man and Citizen, French Constitutions of 1791 and 1795 and many other documents.

Each one of our votes is important and will make a difference. It is our vote that portrays the complete picture of the mind and will of the people. Let's get out and vote and make our will known. Let's have a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.

In the war, yes I said war, between the Republicans and the Democrats, the Republicans are losing.

We Expect More From our Government and Indeed, So Does our President!

Did you know that recently the Chinese government has done in audits of all their various agencies and you know what they found? They found billions, that's right billions of Chinese yen stolen and they found lots of fraud. This is because they was no transparency in Chinese government and no accountability. And this is why I am so glad to live the United States of America.

Quest for Democracy in Ethiopia

Hundreds of political prisoners in Ethiopia like Professor Mesfin, a 76-year- senior member of the opposition party and founding member of the Ethiopian Human Rights Council (EHRCO), are in detention in connection with the opposition demonstration following the May 2005 election. Professor Mesfin’s daughter, Dr. Meqdes, and many others believe that promotion of democracy in Ethiopia has been limited and weakened by U.S. security interests in the Horn of Africa. Ethiopians hope that the U.S. Administration will reconsider its policies and get tough on the authoritarian Government of Ethiopia. Many Ethiopians strongly believes that failure to act timely may lead to a growing support for the rise of radical elements and risk constant instability in a country that is vital to U.S. strategic interest in the region. Ethiopia was feted to be one of the emerging democratic countries, but the handling of the election results was found not to meet the international standards. It was a setback to democracy. A year later, comprehensive bi-partisan bill, H.R. 5680, the Ethiopia Freedom, Democracy and Human Rights Advancement Act of 2006 sponsored by Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) and Rep. Donald Payne (D-NJ), unanimously passed the International Relations Committee and was forwarded to the full House. The bill is intended to contribute to the development of a political environment that will actively seek the institutionalization of human rights, the rule of law and democracy in Ethiopia. The bill is expected to be brought to the floor in the coming days.

Is Bush Evil Or Just A Miserable Failure As A Leader?

So, here's a question for Republicans - is Bush an honest and sincere President who just happens to have no leadership or communications skills or an evil human being who deliberately tries to confuse the American public about war?

Department of Homeland Security Gets It Right with Highway Watch Program Funding

The Department of Homeland Security has made a very wise tactical move and that is to re-enlist the hundreds of thousands of Truck Drivers in our Nation to keep a look out. If you will recall the Truck Drivers and Highway Watch Program is credited with catching the DC Shooters at a rest stop after a string of high-profile random murders.

Why Republicans Lead For A While Then Democrats And Nothing Gets Done Either Way

We often see in business when a company has to lay off thousands of people they bring in someone from outside the company to do it. Then all the employees can be mad at him. Once all the layoffs are completed then the company will terminate him and the employees say; See you SOB you are out of here, we run this company and we got you fired.

Label Your Enemy to Build a Team; Human Politics and Silly Sound and Fury

Well here we go again it must be election time and everyone is busy trying to condemn their political opponents on each side of the aisle. It seems like in the primate politics of the United States struggle for power in the House and the Senate we are seeing more labeling of your enemy to build your team.

Live from New York's U.N. Theatre - The Devil and the Dancing Dictators

As if the UN did not already have a mountain of failures to live down, along comes two of the worlds most P.T. Barnum like dictators complete with misinformation, ranting and name calling. Diplomacy and civilized discourse itself has been seriously affronted not to mention the office of the U.S. President.

Taking It Personally

The author offers a pessimistic view of international affairs and the multinational failure of will to address an increasingly dangerous and volitile world situation

Time for NATO to Step Up to the Plate

The Supreme Allied Leader of NATO in Europe recently called upon member countries to contribute more troops to the fight in Afghanistan. Since 9/11, though, NATO countries other than the U.S. have decreased defense expenditures, putting the war on terror at risk.

The Other Iraq

The Shiite majority in Iraq is pushing for an autonomous region in the south similar to the Kurdish region in the north. If successful, the move would push Iraq toward a complete break-up, with three autonomous regions: a Shiite south, a Kurdish north, and a Sunni west.
