Many leaders avoid it altogether, because it strikes at one of our most prized possessions--our image of self. We like to see ourselves as effective, skilled, and capable both with people and task. Negative feedback is an opportunity that should be welcomed and valued as a great gift.It is unlikely

    Go Slow to Go Fast
I’ve been telling people this for several years. The admonishment, for me, began with my work teaching Quality Improvement at Chevron. In that work we found, to no one’s surprise, that people often focus on the task - solving a problem - much more than on the process - understanding its causes (and planning solutions accordingly.)Most of us in western culture can easily focus on solving a problem or removing a barrier. After all, we know what’s wrong - just fix it! As

    Lease Versus Own
The foundation for success…A common challenge for all businesses is how to pay for the equipment needed to perform their services. Even among experts and professionals, opinions will often vary. The one thing you must recognize is that each business is unique and there are no standards that work for everyone. Only you know what your capital reserves are and what type of reserves your business will require from month-to-month. While some businesses are more sophist

    Choosing The Right Business Name
Sometimes, new entrepreneurs are in such a rush to get started at their businesses that they jump right into working with customers without giving much thought to their BUSINESS NAME. “I’ll just do business under my own name for a while, until I find something I like.” While it seems easy at the time, you might want to re-think the plan to change business names down the road. You will find that, as your professional recognition and customer base grow, people have started to

In the Chicago police department, the norms of recruitment are more or less similar with some difference in the pay packet and other benefits. They offer a starting salary of over $42,000 per year to their officers, which are increased to over $54,000 per year after a year of service, and to over $57,000 per year after 18 months.

Before making a concrete decision to join any one of them, it would be advisable to gather information with respect to the eligibility criteria as well as the salary and other benefits including prospects of internal promotions within the police department.
