Branding 101: Why It's Critical to Business Success and How to Do It Right
What’s Your Brand?A brand is a product/company personality that helps distinguish it from the competition. It evolves out of the product essence. So, what’s yours? Quality? Service? Price? Whatever it is it’s something your marketing must reinforce across all communication channels, from business card to TV spot. Even your office space. You can’t brand yourself as a cutting-edge ad agency if your office looks like a law firm. It also shouldn’t try to be all things to all people. "The best, cheapest, easiest, most fun" is not a clear brand. Above all, your brand must be truthful. What’s in a Name? For a start-up or a new product, don’t underestimate the val

Facts About FACTA, Or What Does FACTA Mean To You And Your Company
FACTA stands for Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act. The law went into effect Jan. 1, 2005. FACTA is the law which allows all Americans access to their credit report once per year. So what does that have to do with you?On June 1, 2005, a new provision of FACTA went into effect. It says that any employer (even if you only employ one person) whose action or inaction results in the loss of employee information, can be fined by federal and state government, and sued in civil court. Bet you didn't know that. But you need to know, and need to know what you can do to protect yourself.Small Businesses will be affected the most.‘"A small businessman who makes a mista
When Keisha Case decided it was time to go back to work and join the legion of working mothers, it wasn’t whether or not to return that was the tough decision – it was what to do.

“My decision to get back in the workplace was mostly financial but when I look back I realize it had much to do with my education, too,” said Keisha, a working mother of one and former globe-trotting student and educator. “I wanted to be able to contribute to our family income but still stay at home during the day with my son. Some of my suggestions got shot down by family but other ideas got a better response.”

So Keisha began a job working from home managing a company called About Town Moms, a tight-knit organization that led moms and their wee ones on historical neighborhood walks, private museum tours and other cultural adventures. The Importance Of A Brand
What do you think of when I say Coca-Cola, Microsoft, IBM, GE, Intel and Nokia? Well, if you said they are all big companies, you'd be right. But they are also the six top rated global brands as judged in a survey conducted by Business Week earlier this year (2006).Why is a brand important? Obviously, a brand provides recognition. A brand sends a message to the market. The "brand" clearly identifies what can be expected from the company. Wikipedia defines "brand" as "a collection of images and ideas representing an economic producer," or " a symbolic embodiment of all the information connected to a company, product or service. A brand serves to create associations and expe

    Brand Awareness Basics
Statistics tell us that in the U.S. alone, the average person is exposed to 3,500 ad impressions per day. I’m not talking about the average Internet user seeing banner impressions… I’m talking about the typical citizen seeing billboards, TV commercials, email promos, branded coffee mugs, etc.And most of the ad impressions we see on a daily basis are not direct response promotions. A billboard on the highway is not necessarily placed to make us stop right then and there and purchase a new couch, nor is a ballpoint pen with the name of a local bank likely to make us rush over to the nearest branch and open an account spur of the moment. But all of these impressions do take th

The Art Of Fear Free Advertising
Is fear of failure an issue when you commit valuable money in advertising?Well how about if I showed you a way to remove this fear and you know that you would be able to spend money advertising KNOWING you would get a return? Is that a valuable lesson?Course it is!So, how do you do it?The answer is testing! It's simple really.. “The major challenge is time,” Keisha said of her new life. “I feel like I run around all day but by the end of the day I sleep really well knowing that I am helping my family financially, raising my son during the day and staying in the workforce. Many people call me a super mom but I have always been happiest when I feel like I’m helping others.”

Keisha’s story is echoed around the country as moms look for jobs for reasons ranging from financial to self-improvement. And there’s one common theme among all these different tales – motherhood is tough enough, and working while rearing the kiddies is an even more difficult balancing act.
