The so called free paid survey sites simply take a commission from each survey you complete. For example if you complete a $10 survey on a paid membership site you will receive $10, however a free paid survey site may only pay you $8 for the same survey as they are taking a 20% commission. Two dollars may not sound a lot but lets say you get thirty $10 surveys completed in a month that is $300 with a membership site but only $240 with a free site. So if the difference is $60 but a membership site is only $40 surely you can figure out which is going to be the better option. Also don't forget the membership fee is a one off charge where as the free site will take commission from every paid survey
