    Seven Deadly E-zine Killers
If you're like most e-zine publishers, you subscribe to other e-zines. I subscribe to over two dozen. Call me an info nut if you'd like, but I like to stay informed. And I do read them. But lately, I've been scanning and have even unsubscribed from a few publications. There's a nasty trend from certain publishers to sell products without offering any valuable information in return. It seems the subscriber is no longer important. In a typical list-building scenario, the publisher places ads o

Public Relations for Minimum Wage Laws
Whenever there is an election many politicians will insist upon minimum-wage laws to help the poor people so they can make an honest day's pay for an honest day's work. Do you want to know how to write Internet articles that get results?

Because words are power and knowing how to use the right words will bring you results.

Research shows that you have from only half a second to 3 seconds to grab your reader's attention on the Internet. And that's not much time at all.

People read books, newspapers and magazines much differently than they read on the Internet.

Internet readers scan. And if they don't quickly find what they're looking for, they move on and move on fast. It only takes one click of the mouse and you've lost um.

So before you sit down to write articles for the Internet, you need to know at least the basics of how to capture and hold your reader's attention.

    Well Written Headlines

This is the single most important part of your article.

Your headline is the first thing your reader sees, so it has to be good. It must also contain your keyword or words and include a call to action or a great question.

Here are a few examples of headlines I've used.

Maintaining Energy Control Systems In Your Business
Heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R) are major concerns for most organisations when it comes to operations. Whatever business you’re in – from manufacturing to office-based services – these constituents can be the ‘life’ of a building. They can have an indirect effect on production, if your workers depend on comfortable working conditions. And they can have a direct effect if you depend, for instance, on product storage (e.g. refrigerated produce). There’s another equa

Sub-Headlines also help to keep your readers attention and challenge them further. A question always makes a great sub headline because questions make the reader curious.

    Article Body

For the body of your article you need to give the reader lots of white space.

  • Keep your sentences short
  • Use only two or three short sentences in each paragraph
  • Break things up with bold headings
  • Use italics
  • Use bullet points
  • Dense, thick copy, no matter how important, is not going to be read.

    Your Subject

Don't fool around, get to your subject quickly.

Television advertising uses the following formula for most commercials. This will sound familiar if you watch much TV.
