If Cold Calling Works For You
I receive e-mails on a regular basis from people who state that cold calling is working perfectly well for them and that they’ve become quite successful by it. That's fine - as I've always said, if it works for you, then keep doing it. My materials are for people who either are not getting results from cold calling, or who simply do not enjoy it and do not want to do it anymore. If you feel that cold c
k with a low conversion rate is to get a lot more traffic and building a downline is the way to do that. So rather than decide the problem is untargeted traffic and concluding traffic exchanges are useless for their proposition, they up the ante by getting much more traffic.

Of course, some will see this as wasteful - why not just use targeted advertising? On the other hand, build a downline in traffic exchanges and you can have a sou

    The people that hate them…

These people have usually tried one or more traffic exchanges to promote their main business and found that they get low to non-existent sales or signups for the amount of effort they put in.

This is not surprising since most TEs offer at best a 1:1 visitor/surf ratio (meaning you have to view at least one member site to earn a visitor to your own site, often more for free memberships).

Someone using TEs for an untargeted ’proposition’ would probably get a 0.01 - 0.1% conversion rate at best so they might have to view 10000 sites at least to make one conversion - no wonder they conclude they don’t work. Yet the TE is working exactly as it should, it’s not the TEs fault if the conversion rate is so low.

The reason the conversion rate is so low is two-fold. One, the traffic is untargeted for their business (generally, see exceptions later) and two, the visitors are surfing to earn credits. Thus they don’t generally want to take time out to look at a site unless it really interests them.

    The people that love them…

The people that make TEs work have realised the above problems and have gotten around them by exploiting a common feature of (virtually) all TEs - they all offer extra credits for referring other people to the TE - i.e. building a downline in that TE.

So these people diligently build downlines in one or more TEs so that they earn a lot more credits per month than they could ever earn by surfing alone.

If these people are using the resulting credits to promote the same kind of proposition as above with a 0.01-0.1% conversion rate, that rate doesn’t change but the number of free credits results in conversions.

They take the view that the way to work with a low conversion rate is to get a lot more traffic and building a downline is the way to do that. So rather than decide the problem is untargeted traffic and concluding traffic exchanges are useless for their proposition, they up the ante by getting much more traffic.

Opening A Dollar Store - Some Big Store Disadvantages
If you are opening a dollar store carefully consider the advantages and the disadvantages associated with the actual size of the store that you will open. While there are many advantages to opening a store that is larger in size, there are also many disadvantages as well. Of course, some will see this as wasteful - why not just use targeted advertising? On the other hand, build a downline in traffic exchanges and you can have a source of free, albeit untargeted traffic and since it’s free, it’s cost-effective despite the low conversion rate.

I said that TE traffic is relatively untargeted for most businesses but there are exceptions. In fact there are three notable ones:

    • If your proposition is about making money
    • If your proposition is about getting more from TEs
    • If your proposition is ‘free’ products or information

Most of the people surfing to earn credits are doing it to promote a business - they’re interested in making money. These people may already have a business but they’re usually open to other ways of making money.

The people surfing are using TEs to earn credits so anything that offers them a way to increase the credits they earn is going to appeal to a lot of them.

And if something is free, they may as well have it.

There are other tips to getting more from traffic exchanges but design your strategy around these 3 high-conversion areas and you might find that traffic exchanges could help you after all!
