    What is Accounts Receivable Factoring?
Do you have clients that take up to 60 days to pay their accounts receivable? Waiting months to get paid for your invoices can wreak havoc in your company’s cash flow, especially if you have to meet payroll, pay suppliers and pay rent. But what happens if your business can’t wait to get paid because it must meet its obligations? One solution to this problem has been gaining popularity recently. It’s called accounts receivable factoring and it allows you to turn your slow paying receivables into cash, almost immediately. It works by selling your receivables to a factoring company, who in turn, pays you on the spot. This provides you with the necessary cash flow to pay suppliers, rent and salaries.Selling your receivables to a factoring company is relatively simple. It can be done with a 3-st

Corporate Gifts: An Excellent Way to Close a Deal
The business world is growing more competitive by the minute. In a fast paced society such as our own, it is very important for business professionals to stay on top of their game. When trying to win over a new client, it may be necessary at times to do a little schmoozing with the corporate snobs. Corporate gift giving is a great way to show a potential client that you mean business. We are not talking about your everyday coffee mug with the company logo stamped on it. When trying to win over a client, it’s essential to invest in something more unique, but practical. An ordinary coffee mug may not do the trick. A coffee mug communicates that you are somewhat interested in them as a client, but you put no thought into the gift. Let’s consider some other alternatives.A corporate wine basket may be
There is no room for a disconnect between the image your firm is projecting and the position you seek to carve out of the marketplace. More than ever, shifts in the legal industry are shining a bright light on business development. As the face of the firm evolves, its storytellers, i.e. the logo, firm brochure, practice area literature, recruitment material, trade publication ads, event invitations, newsletters, and the web site need to reflect the change. Collectively and individually, these ambassadors make a great case in favor of judging a book by its cover. How they look is just as important as their content.

Shaping that look, as well as shaping perception, is a function of graphic design. Strategic graphic design begins at the point where business goals and creativity intersect. A design, no matter how eye-catching, will fall short of success if that point of intersection has been missed. Sharp graphics alone lack the substance to define identity, but offer plenty of style.

Here's a Quick Fix for 2006... or 2007 for That Matter
"The first step toward success is taken when you refuse to be a captive of the environment in which you first find yourself." - Mark CaineHere’s a Quick FixWhen four successful people all tell me to watch the same DVD, I take action. Rika and I zoomed down to Rogers Video and grabbed “What the Bleep Do We Know”, which we watched on New Years Day. What a great start to the 2006! (Or a great start to the rest of one’s life, for that matter.) We all know that Napoleon Hill told us, “Whatever the mind of man can believe and conceive, it can achieve” – we all know about the power of positive thinking. But watching this amazing, scientific video was a powerful reminder and motivator that we will determine what 2006 holds for us.This movie is certainly a “Quick Fix” and a “Checkup from the

    The People are the Brand
While on the road delivering seminars, I stopped at a large restaurant chain for breakfast. Some of their employees were on break eating the competitor’s food at a very centrally located table. EVERY guest that was entering, leaving, refilling a soda, or placing an order saw an employee of this restaurant eating out of a bag adorned with a competitor’s logo. What kind of message does that send?Having worked 18 years for a chain restaurant, I understand how people can grow tired of their company’s food and need a change of pace—no argument there. The startling revelation was the fact that the manager was oblivious to the message his employees were sending to the arriving guests—nothing like advertising for the competitor within your own restaurant! At the very least, the employees should ha

How to Hire Your First Cleaning Employee
You may have started your cleaning company part-time and thought that as the business grew you could quit your "day job" and put more time into the business. But as your cleaning business grows you may find you can no longer manage all the tasks you need to handle, no matter how much time you devote to it. If you do not have time to market your business or to keep in contact with your clients regularly, it may be time to think of adding an employee. Hiring help not only allows you to keep your cleaning business growing, but also allows you to take some much needed and hard earned time off.Start your hiring process by making a list of the tasks needed in your cleaning business and then decide on those you want (or need) someone else to do. Your first employee should be more than just someone who ta

    Everything About Websites
The internet plays an important part in the lives of most people. The most spectacular growth of Internet usage is among teenagers, who use it for a lot of purposing from doing their work for school to chatting with people half way around the world. All the information on the Internet is found on websites. The websites represent collections of web pages, which are documents written in HTML. All the websites on the Internet make up the World Wide Web. Access to most websites is free, but there are websites which require a subscription. The websites may have various functions and according to these functions we can speak about personal websites, business websites, government websites, and websites for non-profit organizations. Style is driven by trend. Style, rather than the firm, becomes the focus of this design approach. The design may be unusual. It may use appealing typestyles, sport a catchy headline, feature compelling illustrations, and photos of each principal attorney. Brochure design may even include a splash of purple. But will this design translate firm-wide from an invitation to a practice area brochure? It may have distinguished your firm from others, but, quite likely, has left an impression that is unrelated to firm character and unique strengths. As a corporate storyteller, a piece driven by style is a one-time expenditure that is unable to add equity to identity or market position. Dramatic color can be used effectively as part of a deliberate effort to project a vibrant image or to push an existing con
