Employee Retention: The 9 Key Strategies To Keeping Your Most Talented People
Many people assume that people leave jobs largely for financial reasons - but that simply is not the case.Extensive research into employee retention shows that people leave jobs for a combination of factors. Factors which may include limited opportunities to develop, being in the wrong job, not feeling valued, that the job no longer fits their lifestyle or indeed a sense that they no longer trust and have faith in their emp

Should You Crack the Tough Nuts?
Years ago I used to focus on the worst members of the audience. The ones who crossed their arms and legs, never smiled, hardly said a word or took a single note throughout the day. I felt the need to ‘win them over’ to prove my ability as a speaker and a trainer.I’ve learned something over the years: Some people do not want to be won over – and that’s OK.Now I focus on the audience members who do respond with smiling
Traditionally many businesses neglected the development of a complete and efficient metadata repository, because they did not realize the business benefit it can yield. It has clearly been an issue, related to the culture of the Business: how management appreciates the value of information and its use in decision making. Metadata in the form of data definition language (DDL) have been developed in RDBMS systems. However, these metadata have been limited to the structure of physical databases. They were not enriched with the addition of:
    • definitions of business terms and acronyms
    • explanations on the information structure
    • business rules on entity types, entity type attributes or combinations of entities types.
In certain cases the documentation on the Enterprise information architecture has been kept in fragmented documents, stored in unlinked repositories or files. Furthermore, in some cases the documentation on certain complex information structures, has been very limited. Moreover, regarding unstructured data (like e-mail, documents etc), the ability to efficiently retrieve information on a specific topic, is often impeded by the lack of efficient content structure and/or descriptive metadata (e.g. semantic tags). On the Internet, the battle to attract attention has led to increased efforts to structure content in a way that can be highly accessible and usable. The ability to attract visitors is increasingly determined by the search engines which mediate between content and Users. A search engine is not able to ‘understand’ the topics covered by a web page unless it is assisted by metadata and rich text content. Rich and carefully written metadata like meta description and keywords sections in HTML pages, are facilitating the machine to understand and promote the content more efficiently. The central position of metadata on the Internet, stored in various forms like HTML meta tags, RSS / Atom feeds or sitemaps (e.g. Google sitemaps), is only going to be further strengthening and evolving to more efficient forms. The semantic web, a web of metadata, is under rapid development, aiming to optimize the accessibility and usability of existing Internet content. An Overview of Online Training Technologies
With only twenty four hours in the day, it is almost impossible to get everything done. We have all been in a situation – whether it is in school or a work environment, when we pray for even just an extra minute of time. After all, with such demanding schedules, even a few more seconds would allow us to actually have a life after work. Luckily, since the internet boom, there have been many alternatives which will help us manage ou

    Dealing with Forum SPAM
It is a shame that we waste so much of our time on the Net dealing with spammers. Many forums become the target of spam robots (bots) that find a forum to attack and then start registering users with the intent of posting spam to the user's account. Once they are registered users, they post spam which contains links that point to their website. This is to create a high link count and cause the site to rank high with the search eng

Creating Value For Your Online Customers
Customers are the lifeblood of any business (whether it's online or offline). So it makes sense to look after your hard-earned customers and give them excellent value for the cash that they hand over to you. It's not about you. It's about the customer and their wants and needs. Giving value will increase the conversion rate of leads to sales, number of transactions and average dollar sale. Earn More Money by Becoming a Super Affiliate
An affiliate program is one of the most rewarding career choices that you can ever make. It can let you make a good amount of income and it can also be a great extra income earner. In fact, some people earn more money in their affiliate programs than in their regular jobs. This resulted in quitting their regular jobs and they concentrated more in their affiliate programs and earned more money by becoming super affiliates.Su

Metadata are needed to describe the structure of Enterprise information and facilitate its search and retrieval. Furthermore, Social networks, under rapid growth on the Internet, can also be applied in large Enterprises in order to exchange experience and tacit knowledge among professionals which are not acquainted and even work in different geographic sites. The whole effort to better structure & explain information, with the efficient use of metadata, presents enormous potential and is expected to dramatically influence future information management developments on the Internet as well as on the Enterprise intranet world.
