e-Marketing Strategy: 7 Dimensions to Consider (the e-Marketing Mix) Clever Sales Questions You Can Ask Let's start with the definition of "Clever" I'm using. It means being skillful in doing something - in this case asking questions. It's more ingenious than it's shrewd.Do you have any procrastinators hiding out in your pending file? Remember, you can't make a mortgage payment with a pending "maybe." Procrastinators procrastinate because that's how they're wired. They're not bad people, they just find it tough to finish what they start.Sure they have good intentions, and you want to believe them. You can can't make a mortgage payment with good intentions either.Actually, if you're dealing with a legitimate procrastinator right now, you can help him with this extraordinary question. I've seen it work dozens of times and have personally put $45,000 in my wallet after using it.Let's assume your procrastinator is holding up the works on a potential $37,507 order. He keeps putting you off. Instead of losing your patience ask this question. What would have to happen for you to sign-off on the purchase order we've been talking about?Procrastinators procrastinate because they don't know what the next step is. This question forces them to think about that next step. It's a great question and you'll be please with the results.I was reading Art Sobczak's newsletter today and he talked about questions you should avoid. For example:"Did you know that we offer ___?""Are you aw

Go Beyond Hearing and Listen, Listen, Listen If we listened twice as much as we talked, we would be a lot further down the road to success. People sometimes think I am very quiet when they first meet me. Those that know me are aware that I am quite the opposite. When I am in a setting where I do not know anyone, I spend my time listening to conversations. I pick up good information about most people at the event. Once I feel I have enough to go on, I will put my hat in the ring and speak up. If most people did the same thing, they would learn how to participate in a conversation. Not only do you have to listen to conversations, you actually have to hear what they are saying. It is only through hearing that you will gain an understanding. I am not saying you need to understand every conversation but you do need to understand enough to make an intelligent comment to get into the circle.Another way to get into a conversation is to reiterate what you have just heard. I use, "did I hear you say . . . . .?” The response is usually yes and then they continue to explain why they said it. This is your opportunity to follow up with your comments. You must continue to listen and hear throughout any conversation and only make a comment when you know exactly what you are talking about. I made a fatal error once when someone was arguing a point and I agreed with them. They then asked me how I knew about the subject. I was dumb-founded and could not answer as I was not really hearing what

e-Marketing Strategy: 7 Dimensions to Consider (the e-Marketing Mix) Small Business Savvy: Working to Build Your Own Equity The path to personal wealth is statistically most often laid by those who put down their paving stones as business owners.According to The National Association of Women Business Owners, currently 10.6 million women business owners spend $546 billion annually on salaries and benefits. Family-owned business research records that 35% of Fortune 500 corporations are family-controlled; family-owned businesses account for 50% of the gross national product. These are impressive statistics on the success of entrepreneurship in the United States of America. Perhaps only second to the American Dream of home ownership is the concept of personal business ownership. Additionally, tax experts recommend owning a home-based business as a way to manage deductions to the greatest advantage. It is just here though, that entrepreneurs face a two-edged sword, and need to make decisions that are in their best long-range interest. The goal of most business owners is to sell what they have built, recovering the highest sale price possible, as reward for years of often difficult work. But if tax deductions are unwisely loaded on to the business during its years of operation, continually reducing the demonstrated income to the business, the end value can be pitifully small to a prospective buyer. This of course, eats a big chunk out of the potential sale price, which the entrepreneur may have been planning upon to fund his/her retirement.<
e-Marketing Strategy: 7 Dimensions to Consider (the e-Marketing Mix) Taking Your Business International Q: I’m interested in doing business internationally. I have done some reading on the subject, but there is an awful lot to digest. Have you had any experience in this matter and can you suggest the best way to get started?
-- P. Granger.A: Great question, Mr. Granger, though not one I’m personally qualified to answer since I have not had direct experience with international sales. So like any good columnist without a clue I can either make up something and hope it sounds semi-intelligent or I can consult someone who really is an expert on international sales and let him answer your question. Since my agreement with The Times prevents me from fabricating anything other than my true age (I’m 29), let’s go with the latter.I called on Jose Rodriguez, President of RISMED Oncology Systems, a Huntsville company that provides high medical technology to radiotherapy professionals around the globe, to get his input on the subject. Jose is an old friend and client and if anyone can give pointers on doing business internationally, Jose is the man.Jose believes that the decision to do business beyond your own backyard should be based on your success as a local, domestic business first. “Unless the business is intended to be one that sells to international customers only, one should not jump into international business until they have devoted the time to develop a good local and domestic business first,” Jose recommends. He

e-Marketing Strategy: 7 Dimensions to Consider (the e-Marketing Mix) Franchising the Nations of the World; Who Will Build It? Recently a few scholars have been talking about franchising the world and luckily I am the one who is brought to their attention. They ask the obvious question, which has been asked before of major projects; if we franchise the nations of the world then who will build the franchise system and who will help the franchisees of the Third World countries who sign-up to become first world nations? There will be lots of infrastructure to build so the civilization will succeed as a franchisee of the world franchise system.Well, last time I checked industrialized nations did not have a shortage of large corporations or businesses who were interested in building stuff. For instance; The Military Industrial Complex does not care what it builds? Nuclear power plants, levees in New Orleans, a bridge in Peru, a high-speed train in Argentina, a dam in Egypt. Or the same companies could just keep building rockets for space or ships, bombs and planes to protect the System. The bigger the system the more to protect and the more to build, plenty to do, everyone wins.So you see, free enterprise can build anything and that is what entrepreneurial capitalists and businesses are for. Everything you see in our great civilization everywhere you go was built by a company. Of course you can understand why the scholars ask the question; because they have been pondering theory and have really never built anything in their life. Please consider all
