The best thing for small business is to do it yourself. Learn everything. It's all there for you on the net much like free references to yourself on the web.

As for press releases, say someone searches you as 'gypsy clothes', they will probably find you from the online classifieds. But at the same time, they have never heard of you before. In absense of a website, people find it very comforting to have a press release that also comes up to get to know you a ltitle.

Forums:

They're just left there for anyone to go in and chat, so long as you're not promoting your product in an upfront way. In that case, you will get kicked off or your ad will get removed.

Still, go into forums and leave messages for people with your name and product clearly displayed at the bottom. More searchable links. More references to you.

Google and several other search engines don't work like they used to. You used to have to practically spam them with keywords whereas now, their engine works as though its a set of human eyes. It's never been better for finding online classifieds, press releases and references to names.
