The reason most businesses don’t follow up prospects is, just like the guy I mentioned, they simply don’t have time to get around to it. It takes work to write a follow up email, especially when if you have to write an individual email to each prospect. It’s a chore you keep putting off.

How I first discovered the power of autoresponders
My earliest Internet marketing venture was a multi-level marketing program back in 2003. This company was smart enough to teach me about using autoresponders to follow up prospects. I signed up for a free autoresponder service (I don’t recommend this now because the messages carried ads and it doesn’t look too professional.) I set up a series of messages supplied by my company and personalized them slightly. Then I forgot about them.
