    Effective Communication: Planning Buy-in
Is your organization driven by a clear vision and strategy that is understood and supported by every person at every level?A few year ago during an all employee meeting, the following question was asked of the audience, "What would you do if you knew you could not fail?"Distinctly different answers emerged, which proved divisive and formed two groups: "Glass-half-full" and "Glass-half-empty."Glass-half-full: The first group developed this view: we're free to explore, free to make mistakes, free to learn, and encouraged to grow.Glass-half-empty: The second group misread the question's intent and came of with this negative view: we must do as we’re told, our

    Recycled Pens
Today 50% of the paper industry’s raw material comes from recovered paper and board. Paper is the most recycled product in Europe, and Europe is the global champion in paper recycling with a rate of 55.4%. The paper industry has been a driving force in achieving that rate and is part of a new industry initiative to push it even higher, to 66% by 2010. The potential exists to make this target a reality and bring us closer to the EU goal of a ‘recycling society’. But there is also a gap between industry’s view of recovered paper as a raw material and public policy, which views it as waste. If recycling is to continue to move forward, this needs to be addressed. The European paper industry competes on the global market and is one
I'm often contacted by my website visitors, readers of my articles and others who've 'tracked me down' in some way or another, who are generally looking for advice or guidance in some form or other. One of the more common requests seems to concern their need for information about how to go about getting their 'planned' Internet home business started. More specifically, in fact, are those wondering about Affiliate Marketing.

It's not surprising at all, given the level of exposure that this particular home business model enjoys online. Certainly, every website with a home based business theme promotes or at least suggests Affiliate marketing as a possibility for the thousands of budding 'Netpreneurs' (not being a fan of 'buzzwords', I really do hate that expression!).

    Job Search: Age-Proofing Your Resume
Older job hunters fear interviews where their age cannot be concealed and where an initial response of dismay on an interviewer's face, quickly hidden, confirms their anticipation of discrimination. The mature job seeker often prefers the anonymity of mailed resumes, e-mailed inquiries, internet applications, and telephone contacts.Interviews, however, are the goal of everyone who wants to work. There is so much pre-selection and screening before an interview is granted that simply getting that far in the process provides at least some expectation of an offer being made. It is when interviews are not forthcoming that real concern is needed. Ask yourself if you may be inadvertently triggering screening filters by the documentat

How to Manage Sales By the Numbers
I hated math in high school, which explains why I struggled through Algebra One two times and finally passed it my senior year. I hadn’t expected math to become a major influence in my life. I didn’t care how many apples Johnny had to have if he needed to eat one, three time a day over 14 days. I didn’t like apples that much. I didn’t get it then, but I love numbers today and I like apples too.How Much Will Johnny Sell?If you ask me how much Johnny will sell this month, well, this is an equation I can get into. If we run the numbers, we can pretty accurately determine where Johnny will end up this month, quarter and year. As the numbers and ratios change so will the final results. This can be exciting, when we ar

Positioning Strategies For Real Estate Agents
Just recently I was asked to do a talk for my good friend and co-author of our best-selling book in Singapore titled Get Rich Now: 15 Strategies from a Self-made Millionaire, Dr Dennis Wee. (Dr Wee is one of Singapore’s most celebrated entrepreneurs. Despite not having completed his high school education, he managed to start and build up his own real estate company, Dennis Wee Group, to become of Singapore’s leading real estate companies generating S$3.8 billion worth of sales in 2006.)He wanted me to share some marketing secrets with his real estate agents and I was more than happy to do so because I believe there’s so much more that agents can do to position, brand and market their services. Can Preaching Action Sell?
I’ve spent the last seven years marketing on the internet but have just recently started giving advice on how to be successful building an online business. The reason I started this blog was to fill a void I perceived in the online business market - the void for advice and discussion on how to take action.Action has been and continues to be the single most vital aspect to my success and I’ve yet to read someone else’s success story that doesn’t include action as a primary factor in their success as well.I think there’s a real need in the internet marketing world for realistic and straight talk on how to take action. How to take all the knowledge you’ve gained from reading internet marketing blogs, forums, and ebooks and

There would also seem to have been a recent increase in ebooks and tutorials etc promising the recipe for success in Affiliate Marketing. Having written one myself and read many, I can say firsthand that some are valuable, helpful and useful products which will go a long way towards getting a budding Affiliate up and running and, provided they have the necessary drive, perseverance and 'certain other qualities', on the way to success in their dream of working from home. Of course, some (IMO probably about 50%) are total rubbish, a promotional vehicle for some other product or program, or both.
