    Negotiating Skills; What's My Interest?
I read earlier this year that the Palestinian Prime Minister had received support from militants to give up their weapons in exchange for government jobs. On face value it struck me as a stark example of the difference between a person's interest and position. The position of the "militants" is well publicised, their interests however, appear to be more personal. Job security providing an income to support their families is closer to their interest. In negotiations, we often concentrate on positions rather than interests and we get a negotiation result which does not extract the greatest possible value out of the negotiation and may damage relationships. In "Getting to Yes: Negotiating Agreement Without Giving In", a classic text about negotiating, Roger Fisher and William Ury, explain: "Your position is something you have decided upon. Your interests are what caused you to so decide." In most negotiations, defining differences in terms of positions means that at least

    WEBconference Applications For Management
Problems It has been observed that it is becoming increasingly difficult to conciliate the agendas of the people managing the company in order to schedule the statutory meetings in conjunction with the workshops of the ongoing projects. Moreover, the absence of a management representative at a meeting (albeit due to an important situation such as negotiating an important contract) is not uncommon. Consulting your colleagues helps you to take better decisions for the company. To conveniently hold meetings anytime and anywhere (also in small groups), make use of Tele-efficiency's superior service.Solution The statutory meetings that are planned by the president are automatically scheduled in his Outlook calendar, after which he asks the participants to confirm their availability. During the meeting, he introduces the other presenter who gives a PowerPoint presentation and submits a document on the screen, which is
In this article I'm going to explain how to track your ClickBank sales AND traffic. Don't worry if you don't promote any ClickBank products, the techniques outlined below can be used with any affiliate network that has a "Tracking ID" facility. Everything is also 100% free, I'm not trying to promote any tracking systems here!

Ok, let's get started. If you're not familiar with ClickBank's tracking ID system then you can read more about it at ClickBank (read their Hoplink FAQ). The problem is you can only track sales, not clicks. Let's take a look at an example to demonstrate the problem, and the solution. Let's say you have a webpage at this address:

    http://www.yourdomain.com/index.html

On that page you're promoting a ClickBank affiliate URL:

    http://yourid.publisherid.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=code1

You can see that "yourid" is your ClickBank affiliate ID, "publisherid" is the ID of the merchant you're promoting and "code1" is the tracking ID for this particular link. If 100 people click on that link and 3 of them buy the product, that's a conversion ratio of 3%. A conversion ratio is the percentage of people you send to an affiliate URL who then go on to buy the product. In this case, the figure of 3% means that 3 out of every 100 visitors, on average, became customers.

Cruise Line Job Opportunities -- How to Score a Great Job With Caribbean or Carnival Cruise Lines
Carnival and Royal Caribbean cruise lines are two of the largest and most popular cruise lines in the world. Many people within the industry would like to gain employment with one of these companies. Not unlike other cruise lines getting hired with Carnival or Caribbean cruise lines can be difficult, but it is not impossible. The first step when preparing to apply with any cruise line should always be to create a tailored resume. This resume should not only highlight your professional experience, but it should also highlight you as an individual. Cruise lines are particularly interested in what you personally bring to the table and how having you aboard will enhance their passengers experience on their ship. Many of Carnivals ships have casinos on aboard so they also carry an age requirement of twenty one or older for all applicants applying for work on those ships. When applying with Carnival it is important that you note any previous experience you have working in a casino

Rid Yourself of the Receipt Pile
How many of you have a shoebox of receipts that you go through at the end of every year? Do you pay an accountant to go through those receipts for you? You already know how important it is to keep track of those receipts and take each and every deduction you can. Below are some tricks that I use so that when tax time comes, I don't spend hours getting ready to do my taxes or have to pay someone to organize FOR me. My hope is to make your "tax life" a little less stressful.Organizing receipts throughout the year: 1) Get a plastic expanding file folder with 10-20 pockets and self-labeling tabs in it ($9.00-$15.00 @ Staples)2) Make sure it is easy for YOU to open and close. Most have an elastic band that is easy to use.3) Create tabs for each tax category that you will have receipts for (see list of possible categories below)4) Put the file folder in a place where you'll see it and use it!!5) Whenever you take receipts out o

    Interview with a Secretary
This is a real interview with a real secretary. Her identity has not been revealed as to protect her anonymity and her job. Describe your typical morning for me:Well, I get to work a couple minutes early every morning. The “big boss” requires that we’re in the office and ready to work at exactly 8:00 am, so there’s usually a rush to get in the building a few minutes before. I stop at the lounge to drop off my lunch in the refrigerator, and the fridge always reminds me of the time that someone stole my yogurt and ate it. The jerk. Anyway, usually there’s a few faculty members in there, waiting with empty mugs in their hands for the coffee machine to stop dripping. We don’t have a ‘pause and serve’ one, so they have to wait for it to finish. One morning the coffee pot was gone because a secretary had taken it home to thoroughly clean it, and a woman actually started screaming when she saw that the coffee pot was missing. When I get to my office suit

Dealing With Customer Complaints - B.L.A.S.T
In a restaurant, not so far away, in the not so distant future, a telephone rings, a customer complains... and the battle begins!Handling customer complaints doesn't have to always be a battle, with the right tools and responses you can use complaints to your advantage; to help you build your business. B.L.A.S.T is a great tool that is used by companies such as Yum! (Parent company of KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, A&W, and Long John Silvers). Training their employees in the basics of handling customer complaints. The acronym stands for:Believe Listen Apologize Satisfy ThankHow does your company deal with customer complaints? The easiest way to find out is to pick up the phone and play the role of the complaining customer. What happened? If you were an irritated customer, would you return? Using the B.L.A.S.T guidelines, allows you to create a standardized method for dealing with your complainers and turning them into loyal customers. this case, the figure of 3% means that 3 out of every 100 visitors, on average, became customers.

3% isn't bad, but hang on a minute - ClickBank only tells you there were 3 sales for the tracking ID "code1". You don't know there were 100 clicks on the link, and without this figure you can't calculate the conversion ratio. What if 500 people had clicked on the link? The conversion ratio would be just 0.6% (i.e. 0.6% of the 500 visitors became customers). Ideally you should only promote websites that have a relatively high conversion ratio. If you're promoting two different ClickBank products for example, and one has a conversion ratio of 1% and the other 4%, you'd be better off focusing your attention on the second one and ditching the first. You'll only know this if you can calculate the conversion ratio. Luckily, this problem is easily solved with the use of a simple click-tracker PHP script. The script simply counts the number of times someone clicks on a link.

Don't worry if you've never used PHP before, there's nothing complicated about it. As long as you can upload files to your webspace you'll have no problem following these easy steps. It goes without saying that you also need PHP running on your server.

Go to PHPSuccessTools (see the resource box at the end for the URL), click "mailing list" in the navigation bar at the top and subscribe, then check your email for the password. This will give you full access to all the scripts that are available. Click on "Free Scripts" in t
