How to Deal With Rejection and Criticism in Business Relationships
It's important for a salesperson to have a backbone of steel and a strong constitution. The wise salesperson prepares him, or herself for anything that may happen throughout the course of a business day and is not offended if a customer turns down their proposition, even if they get a door slammed in their face. How to Deal With Rejection:The rude customer will go about his day without any regard to your hurt feelings. By allowing yourself to loose your temper, or becoming resentful you will only be defeating yourself. Sadly enough, it just takes some people a little longer to grow up. Some never do. So don't let their bad attitude bog you down i

Managing Your Self Talk To Get Powerful Sales Results
I want to thank my teachers Cynthia Loy Darst, Faith Fuller, and Marita Fridjhon for their brilliant ideas on this topic. I owe them all.Have you ever had a project where you succeeded? Sure you have. So have I. Mine include starting a business, growing my business, staying fit, having a family, and buying a house.Have you ever had a project where you didn’t succeed? Yes, I have, too. Mine include not developing a solid business niche, not losing weight, not networking regularly, and not staying in touch with out-of-town friends.Recently I have learned a new way of looking at why we succeed or fail at certain goals or projects. Having to recruit new staff is an often slow and arduous process. It can typically take around 20 weeks from beginning to end. Once you have gone through the hard work of recruitment and selection to find the appropriate people, you then want capable performance from them as quickly as possible. They also need to have high expectations of you; that you are going to treat them as individuals, with respect and equality.

Keep people focussed As part of their induction and on a regular basis you want to share your business vision with your people. You are the entrepreneur; you have the passion and the drive to make it happen. It will only happen, however, if you ensure that all your team members are focussed on common goals and are heading in same direction. Your strategic plans also need to be clear and communicated to everyone on a regular basis. People are easily distracted, negative influences take effect and people lose direction. Make sure you keep them on the right path with constant reinforcement of where the business is going and how they will benefit.

B2B Sales - Establishing Credibility with Referrals & References
Referrals & References The easiest way to prove your credentials in any B2B sale situation is through referrals and references. Obviously, if you can have someone refer you to a colleague, a friend or even a competitor, you walk into that door about five steps ahead of anyone else. If any of these referrals have a similar problem to the one you just solved for your customer, there is a 90% chance you will get business from this person and company as well. Most of us do not get referrals often enough, and many sales reps don't even ask for referrals at all. There is a simple way to do this, and really all it takes is the abilit

Five Questions for Improving Business Reports
Have you ever asked for a report based on data in a database? Or have you ever been asked to create such a report? Starting a report can sometimes feel like a mind reading trip into uncharted territory. I have spent over 5 years creating reports and I found it was often necessary to go back and redo reports because communication was not clear. Sometimes the party requesting the report didn't know what they really wanted. Sometimes the party creating the report does not ask enough questions before starting. Over the years, I have come up with starter questions that provide a plan. Using these I have more often created the needed report on the first draft.ou are the entrepreneur; you have the passion and the drive to make it happen. Shared VALUES are also essential for quality standards to be understood and met on an ongoing basis.

Demand PerformancePeople like to be directed and fully conversant with the extent of their role. Be precise about their responsibilities, quality standards and the need to maintain a “customer first” approach at all times. Give them autonomy so they feel empowered to take charge of their role and develop their abilities. Allow them to experiment in a supportive environment so that they can push the limits of their capabilities and allow their personal splendour and uniqueness to shine. This requires some risk on your part. People will make mistakes; blunders will happen and there will be a cost to your business. This is an inevitable part of growth.
