    The Use Of Stretch Hooder Films
    The use of Stretch Hooder film is more environmentally safe, cost effective, energy saving and convenient way to palletized materials. Stretch Hooder Films combine with UVI protection and with the right blend of plastic raw materials strongly improves load stability which is an advantage for pallet covers while it replaces Shrink Films that use a heat source which uses more energy and the use stretch film that carries an adhesive coating to it which is harder to recycle.Stretch Hooder films make use of co-polymers to stretch a film without permanent deformation. The film stretches in the machine direction and the transverse direction which improves the stress strain curve, and the material never reaches the plastic point before it reaches the permanent deformation. This allows the film to snugly form around the dimensions of the pallet, and limits movement and also protects the contents from dirt and water contamination on top of the pallet and lower part of the pallet load.Stretch Hooder Film is a one piece hood made in the machine direction from a continuous roll of lay flat tubing or gusseted film. The stretch hooder film is stretched over the load and secured under the pallet. Stretch Hooder Films are ideal for applications where pallet loads require five sided protection, that encounter stress during shipping or where products are sensitive to heat.Some of the benefits of using Stretch Hooder

    Forget Strategy - SENSIBLE Marketing Is the Way to Go!
    Strategy is a word that marketers cling to in order to justify the business value of marketing. Anything with value needs to have strategy, right? It’s good business…the stroking of chins, the facilitated brainstorming sessions, the neatly formatted “strategic marketing plan” that results from all that creative thinking about what needs to be put into place.Marketers as a group have an inferiority complex. We are defensive because we don’t directly contribute to revenues, the results we do produce tend more towards the intangible side of the business, and the marketing part of the budget is high relative to other business functions. We believe (often with reason) that other members of the management team consider us with raised eyebrows, trying to figure out what exactly we are bringing to the party. Hypersensitive types that we are, we assert our importance on the team by stressing the “strategic” value of marketing.Strategic marketing and marketing strategy are meaningless terms to most small and medium business owners. There is no time for brainstorming sessions and no money for facilitators and fancy plan documents. Everybody is too busy working to improve the bottom line—increasing revenues and decreasing costs—to place any importance on “strategy” when it comes to marketing activities. Getting the brochure done, putting a web site in place and keeping it maintained, and sending out a newsletter—t
    If you want to make money in the mailing list business, you should contact the state and federal government for sources of lists. What's available? You wouldn't believe it!

    From many states you can get lists of licensed attorneys, accountants, real estate agents, veterinarians, barbers, insurance companies, architects, nursing homes, cosmetologists, social workers, dentist, librarians, psychologist, manufacturers, licensed drivers, businesses, doctors, foreign corporations registered in the state, and many others. There are even 28 states that allow access to driver's license records!

    When you're dealing with the government, expect to have to go through several people to finally get to talk with someone knowledgeable about the lists that are available.

    This even more of a problem when dealing with the federal government. Again, be persistent. If you believe a particular list is available from the government don't take no for an answer when someone says there isn't such a list. here's a few sources to speed you on your way;

    FSS Surplus Personal Property Zone. This is a list of people who have bought auctioned government property from the federal government. It's broken down into several files (regions). An example if region 8-10 consisting of 38,000 buyer addresses. It's available on tape from the General Services Administration for $50.

    DOMESTIC MAIL MANUAL. 8,700 paid subscribers to the government's publication on postal regulations. It's available from the government printing office.

    CATALOG OF UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT PUBLICATIONS subscriber list. 1400 paid subscribers to this publication which lists monthly government publication. The list is available from the Government Printing Office. Call or write for current price and format.

    BUSINESS AMERICA, INTERNATIONAL TRADE subscribers list of nearly 5,000 names and address of people either in export related fields, or expressing an interest. The list is available from the government printing office.

    Again, these are just a few of the many, many lists available. Some are free. Most carry a nominal charge. Be sure to specify printed directory, diskettes, or tape format. It is also advisable to inquire and make sure the file you want has the complete name, and address for it to be usable - many files may only have a name and no address.several files (regions). An example if region 8-10 consisting of 38,000 buyer addresses.

    Tamper Evident Asset Labels Protect Your Equipment
    Let's face it, companies these days are always losing equipment to theft and misplacement all because big brother isn't watching close enough. Keeping track of your company's assets should give you piece of mind and your employees some accountability. Just by putting a small asset label on their laptop or expensive piece of equipment, can sometimes mean the difference if that item makes it back or not.Asset labels come in all sizes, shapes and material types. There are companies that will print custom asset labels with your logo, barcode and specific number sequence. This can be expensive with set up fees and long lead times. The result usually is a durable product that has a durable overlaminate that protects that number or barcode from smuding or scraping. Polyester labels seem to work the best for long life, exposure to heat and sunlight, etc. Consider tamper evident asset labels that can come in the form of VOID adhesive which leaves behind a stick residue on the asset it was removed from. It also makes it so that label can't be taken off and attached to another asset. The label itself reads "VOID" throughout, so one can tell that it has been tampered with. There are also Destructable Vinyl labels that tear and rip appart if someone is trying to remove the label. They will end up with a sticky mess. I even noticed that they have sheet fed asset l

    Implement the Benefit of Business Change with R-pM
    Conventional methods implement the costs of change and prevent benefits. Benefit from change through R-pM.Many of us have participated in business change projects. I am sure that we share many experiences with the difficulties in gaining successful business change. We have read about many cases of problems and disasters. Why after all this experience and the many stories of unsuccessful business change, do we continue to have problems? For a start:- We continue to employ bad methods for business change. No one has ever put forward a good method- We do what everyone else is doing, to implement the same problems as everyone else- We employ conventional wisdom, which automatically introduces bad decisions- Our enterprise is not structured to plan and manage benefits, support new solutions in operation, or ensure good performance from the solutionLet's go through business change step by step. What was the objective of business change? Likely, there is a nominal objective like increasing revenues, reducing costs, or improving customer service. What is the basis of this objective? Precisely how is the new solution to be used to produce benefits that add up to the nominal objectives and provide the return? This rarely is defined.If the nominal objective is just words, what is the implementation team trying to do. Often they will say their objective is performance improvement.

    Choosing and Using Your Desk
    Whether you are working at home or in the office, your desk is a major key to reducing stress and improving productivity. Make sure that it is not only a place you can function efficiently, but just as important, a place you like to be! A functional desk that is ugly can be as much of a deterrent to productivity as a beautiful desk that is not functional. I have spent nearly twenty years with people at their desks. One thing has become vehemently clear. Your desk can be your greatest enemy or your best friend. Take a good look at your desk. How does it make you feel? Are you comfortable there? Can you do what you need to do there easily? How does it look to other people? Does it reflect the message you want to give to the world about your work and your values? Analyze the kinds of activities you need or want to do at your desk. If you use a computer, an L-shape desk is usually the best option. Use the short end of the “L” for your computer, and the long end for desk accessories, your telephone, and spreading out papers while you are working.One of the major detractors to an effective and attractive desk are those pesky scraps of paper, which seem to proliferate in your absence – and sometimes in your presence! Post-it Software Notes solves that problem. You can jot down reminders, organize them in memo boards, and set and alarm to remind you of your intentions. You can even embed them in your documents.
