Special Interest Groups Push Your Success
If you have spent some time talking about non profit groups and being involved with fund-raisers. I would like to suggest that you should be take one step further and you should volunteer to be part of the executive. You may be thinking that you do not have enough time to do this. In reality, being on the executive helps you to steer the organization and make it better. These positions are often hard to fill because of the perceived time commitment. Make this an opportunity to step up to the plate and help give some direction. Every organization I have joined, I have managed to be on the executive. I even have become the President. These positions should not be taken lightly as they are a lot of work but what you get out of the responsibility is far more rewarding. Everyone in the organization will know who you are and how you operate. You will be part of the face the group puts forward. This type of notoriety is very difficult to obtain going through normal business channels.I thoroughly enjoy sitting on the executive with others that have a

A Great One-Liner Opens the Door For More Ideal Customers To Walk Through
Getting more clients starts with getting your foot in the door. A great one-liner can be your door man, and get more customers and partners to come in and start a relationship with your company. Before anyone is going to do business with you, they must first understand why you are in business in the first place. While this may seem obvious to you, each new person you meet needs to hear your story in a way that will make them want to be a part of it. That first simple sentence can make all the difference. A great one-liner makes you stand out from the crowd and can turn casual conversations into the beginnings of great business deals. How? A concise explanation of your company in the form of a savvy one-liner shows that you know what you do, you’re clever and it will sink into the mind of your target client immediately just like a one-liner in a movie. That one memorable line that stays with you, long after the popcorn and candy have been eaten and the lights have come up. You remember the feeling that line invoked in you and it makes you wan
In the strange world of social media, a lot of free widgets (i.e. tools) are available to its inhabitants, with very little technical knowledge needed. Some widgets are good solely for their intended purposes - such as sharing a picture, sentiment, or another form of entertainment. Other widgets have a large amount of value for small businesses, if they know how to use them properly. (I call them off-label here since they can be used for unintended, not-yet-prohibited purposes...) Photo slideshow widgets are in this category - they add high value to a shoestring marketing budget when they're exploited a little for business purposes. If a marketer knows how to use them, they can create free webmercials, business presentations, and mini-clips that add rich media to any user experience.

So, what is a slideshow widget?

First of all, a web widget is simply any kind of web application that you can add to your own webpage, community profile, or any other website that allows html codes. If you've ever been to a social website like Myspace, you've probably seen a lot of cool gadgets and tools on people's profiles. Surveys, pictures, and videos that users like are usually embedded in the page. These widgets are free and easily used as a viral tool for the companies that create them - users pass on the videos or photo collections they like to other people they're connected to via a simple link or a few lines of html that they cut paste.

A slideshow widget is a collection of photographs that move frame-by-frame to the next image. Users can add captions, music, and in some cases, video and user-created sound clips.

Why are slideshow widgets good for marketers? Viral webmercials!

First of all, any widget that gives viewers or users the capability to pass their creation on is a good thing for marketers, period. Users pass on what they like – and they’re used to it. Fine Bubble Diffusers and Flow Boosters Explained
Often fine bubble diffusers are installed in the same tank with flow boosters. This is the case for the Oxidation Ditch process, for example. Care must be taken to place the diffusers far enough from the boosters and calculations of oxygen transfer efficiency should consider the effects of the boosters.Diffusers should be place no closer than 20 ft (6m) from the discharge of a flow booster. On the suction side, the booster should be protected from cavitation, hence it is recommended to follow booster manufacturers' recommendations to ensure that they are protected. The effect that boosters have on fine bubble diffuser efficiency depends on the density of the diffusers. Generally, the less dense the diffuser array, the less impact the flow boosters will have on SOTE (standard oxygen transfer efficiency). When membrane diffusers are placed densely in a grid the air bubbles produce a "wall" of air. This can sometimes cause short circuiting of the water which is trying to flow through it.On the other hand, in sparsely arr

    Deliver More & Charge Less
When you are negotiating a contract, there will be guidelines that determine the work to be completed and the timeline to be followed. These guidelines often do not go into a lot of detail on how the work is to be accomplished. Go beyond the Request for Proposal (RFP) and deliver more than they bargained for to gain a great business relationship and a solid client base. The RFP is generally the first step in obtaining the business and an additional contract will be negotiated for the actual delivery of the product or service. When negotiating, you will need to make sure that you can deliver exactly what is promised and that you are not over extending yourself. On the other hand you need to make sure that you are not under promising so that you can over deliver.Use your common sense to determine what is feasible and what is not. If you say you can do more for the same money then make sure it is in the contract. This way the competition is not likely to gain ground on you. Remember it is in the execution of the contract where the business relati

Operations Strategy and Leverage: Don't Go Wrong
Operational strategy in this post is not what most businesspeople would necessarily think. So it will be important that you know what I mean by operational strategy. Operational strategy begins with defining your business in terms of the present opportunity in relation to the customer and product of the business. It then means, creating a development process by which the business will come to operate in such a way that it takes advantage of key leverage points found within operations; these points are found within the abovementioned definitions. In this post, I will simply focus on helping you find those key leverage points because these points are critical to the long-term success of any business.Defining the need is nothing special. This is simply creating a customer profile that is true and accurate. Of course, a startup company may not have all the wonderful information that an established organization may have, but the least one can do is use some common sense, some good market research if necessary, and understand the importance o

    Why make a slideshow webmercial?

A slideshow widget can be used to create an online commercial for use on your business website, social networking profile, or anywhere else that html can be embedded. If you haven’t noticed, a lot of the big media companies are adding “webmercials” to their websites. This kind of marketing typically costs a lot of money – the kind that consists of hiring an ad agency with the technical expertise and the marketing-savvy to get it produced, direcibuted, and perfected. The traditional webmercial is a streaming media marketing video, similar to short clips that can be viewed on YouTube or at the beginning of the footage shown on news websites (like CNN). Slideshow webmercials are not as high-tech, but can still be an effective and professional medium for marketing to customers using rich media formats. (If you’re having trouble with the concept of webmercials or slideshows, scroll down to my author box where I link to a few of our webmercials created on-the-fly…)

If you're looking to add some multimedia to your website, and you don't have the technical skills or resources to hire a flash designer or design a minisite, a slideshow can be crafted easily to showcase your products or services.

Creating a slideshow webmercial for your business

There are a few different sites on the web that offer strong capabilities when it comes to slideshows. Do a search for “photo widgets” on Google. My favorites are RockYou (http://www.rockyou.com) and Slideroll (http://www.slideroll.com). RockYou is the easiest option if you are not the most tech-savvy but have some good graphics and a general idea of what you want to say or showcase. Slideroll has software that allows you to download some software and add your own media as well a
