In the late 1990’s we witnessed a complete shift as computers become commonplace. Personal Computer ownership skyrockets and every small business started using email between customers, vendors, employees and locations. The information age was set and now
I had just taken my car into to a garage to have something fixed and decided to kill some time by going to the caf? around the corner. Like most caf?s it was filled with workmen having breakfast before starting their day.
Much of the food being served would have had a nutritionist running for cover—it was mostly greasy, fried, and almost everything came with beans.
As I looked around it struck me that these very people who were sitting around me had a bearing to the whole subject of accelerated learning. Many of them looked as if they worked with, on, or around cars and most of them really didn’t even notice my presence as they were engrossed in either their food or a paper.
The more I looked at them, the more I began to realise that like me they had arrived at this specific point in their lives as a result of the choices they had made, and I wondered if armed with more information and an accelerated learning program would they have made the same career choices.
As I began to speculate, I started visualising them, not as they presently were but how they could have been given different choices: instead of workmen in greasy overalls I saw stockbrokers, lawyers, doctors and CEO’s.
Now it is very possible that given additional information and being taught accelerated learning skills some of them may have made exactly the same choices, alas we will never know; one thing is certain, though—they would have known that another path existed.
