I knew I was walking in warm, loving companionship with my heavenly Father. I knew that if I walked in fellowship with Him here, then of course I would still be walking in fellowship with him after I left my body.

Now I was reassured! I knew I would not be left behind! Answering an altar call by going to the altar and accepting Jesus was only the beginning. Jesus always taught us to pray to God the Father. He taught us to love one another so others would know that we are his disciples. When we walk in companionship with our heavenly Father in this life, we can be assured we will not be left behind!

It is not enough to just take the first step. Jesus told us that he is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes unto the Father but by him. The key to this verse is “comes to the Father.” This means Jesus showed us the way to be allowed to approach God the Father, in other words, to stand before the Judge.
