Use The Moving Average Method To Measure Your Article Popularity Quotient
Have you ever wondered which of your articles are the most popular? Do you even care?I don't know, maybe you don't. But I was wondering and thought I'd try to find out. Now, I'm not talking about marketing effectiveness. I'm just talking about crude popularity here. You know, prettiest prom dress; winningest personality; most likely to succeed. That sort of thing. This kind of measurement is a little tricky because you can't go on raw numbers alone. The article published 15 weeks ago will certainly register more page views than the one published last week. Don't you think? The passage of time skews even the best of intentions. So what can you do?I recommend a moving average approach.First, download the CSV version of your Articles Report into a spreadsheet. Then, go down the list and give each article a rating based on the following criteria:Give each article one point for every page view. A little sophomoric? Perhaps. But tr

High Tension for the Buyer and Seller of Real Estate Can Be Reduced
Tensions can run high in both the selling and buying of real estate. After all, there is a lot of money and emotion involved! There are also time pressures and numerous privacy issues to deal with. The sale and purchase of real estate can be a lengthy process involving numerous professionals from many fields. The Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University asked 3,000 Texas home buyers to describe their recent purchase, about 400 replied. Their responses showed how stressful buying a home can be, for buyers and sellers. The Realtors and attorneys who try to keep all tensions at bay in order to complete the transaction also feel the burdens of stress!"The process is grueling in the best of circumstances, and the severe sellers' market of recent times only increased the stress," says Dr. Jack C. Harris, Center research economist. "In conjunction with Lawyers Title Company, the Real Estate Center asked recent home buyers about their buying experience and what changes
We are a month away from the Global Entrepreneurs Summit 2005, XL Results Foundation’s first visit to Australia and first WDW event in London, and we will soon be bringing the first half of 2005 to a close. How are you doing against your 2005 goals? As with every half-time, a thorough review can make all the difference for the second half (just ask Liverpool FC), and so this newsletter is about the bigger picture. I hope you enjoy it!

PURPOSE & PROMISE: HOW BIG IS YOUR BOX?

“Dream lofty dreams, and as you dream, so shall you become. Your vision is the promise of what you shall one day be.” ~ James Allen

At one of my coaching sessions last month, one of my clients said “You mentioned there is a cost to everything. What about purpose? When I step up to my Life Purpose, and live every day fully with contribution and compassion – what is the cost of doing this?”

    “…in dreams begins responsibility.” ~ Edna O’Brien

“The cost is responsibility, which is why so few are willing to pay it.” I replied “I’m willing, but I’m unsure. What if I contribute fully, and then find it is more responsibility that I can afford to take? How can I be sure I have the capacity to pay it forward?” he asked. That’s when I told him about the Promise Box.

I was in Bali in April on holiday with my wife, Renate, and our three kids, Kathleen (10), Theresa (8) and Luke (6). On the day we were leaving, the kids had promised that if they could stay up late they would pack their own bags in the morning. When it was time to leave, the bags weren’t packed and the kids were jumping on the beds. The bags got packed in a rush, we were late, and on the way to the airport I asked the kids to come up with their best ideas on how to keep promises.

On the plane, Kathleen reported on behalf of the team following their mini-conference on promise keeping: “Dad, we all came up with different ideas so I’ll tell you all of them. I think that the best way to keep promises is to write them down so that we remember. Luke says if you don’t make them in the first place you can’t break them. And I think both of these are good ideas. But we like Theresa’s the best!”

    No Follow Tags: Double-Edged Sword?
The nofollow debate is not new. The “rel=nofollow” attribute for anchor tags was created as a counter to the spurge of comment spamming that had become the bane of blogs (and forums) all over the Net. This attribute can also be implemented at a meta tag level to affect multiple links. While the syntax might suggest the attribute tells crawlers to ignore the link and not follow it, some empirical evidence suggests that these crawlers follow nofollow links regardless - I’m still not convinced either way. Either the spiders are following it and just ignoring the PR transfer, or they're getting there via another link that omits the tag. I suppose the lesson here is that it’s safer to use the robots noindex tag to keep the bots out of where you don't want them. Anyway, what we know for sure is that the search engine spiders disregard the links' SEO value as a backlink for the target page. The tag's use has evolved, and w

    Starting Out On Ebay
When starting out on eBay you may have dreams of quick riches and time spent relaxing by the pool. You would be wrong.Sellers come and go, but few make it into the money. Why? Because they give up before they make any money. Learning how to sell on eBay can be a long process of trial and error. But when you get it right it can be one of the best and most rewarding times you will experience. Not having to worry if you are selling more than what your fee's will be, relaxing that you wont need to juggle your time around work, kids, home and eBay is one of the best feelings around. On eBay I sell ebooks, lots of people love them and some hate them, no matter what your view, they sell - and sell well.So what is an ebook? An electronic version of a hard back book that is sent out via your computer. No postage and packing problems and something that you can resell time and time again. Because it is not in physical form, the price is lower than what you wo

    Corporate Kits
A corporate kit is a file generally enclosing important items for the regular maintenance and administration of a company. It is basically a folder that holds trial stock certificates, register, rules, and corporate notes.Corporate kits are enormous revenue generators for a lot of online incorporation services. According to Federal government rules, each corporation should keep a current record of its meetings and shareholder information. The name of a filed business entity is the corporate name.Once the company is filed, an organizational meeting needs to be held where by-laws are adopted and the process is completed. Then, stock certificates are distributed to shareholders. These transactions need to be recorded in the stock transfer ledger. Also, in several states, before you open a corporate account, authorities may ask for a corporate seal. Corporate kits include all of these items to maintain and protect company records. All corporate kits include mem

    In Fear for Your Career?
There sure is a lot of stress in America over careers. Students in colleges are careful to pick their career paths and get their specific degrees. They carefully survey each corporation, which tries to recruit from the campus. Then once employed they start to make a decent wage and then are troubled by economic and industry factors and fear they might lose their jobs and go into bankruptcy, lose their home and destroy their credit rating. Are you in fear for your career? Did you know you are not alone and that 67% of all Americans are very worried that they might lose their jobs? You would think with unemployment at an all time low of 4.7% that folks would not fear losing their job. And you would think that if people did fear losing their job that they would not go out and get in more debt with new cars, credit cards and a new home to boot? Nevertheless this is what is happening and these folks are not saving their money or stockpiling, as if they believe that thei

Theresa interrupted by proudly presenting a colour drawing of a box she had scribbled on the way to the airport. “It’s a promise box.”
    “What’s a promise box?”
“Well it’s like my wish box, where I keep my wishes. But this one is made just for promises. I think maybe sometimes is difficult to keep promises because we have nowhere to keep them. Look, it’s got a padlock so the promises can’t escape.”
“And the padding around the box?”
“That’s so the promises don’t get broken, Silly.”
    “And that little person?”
“That’s not a little person. That’s a normal size human being. So you can see the box is huge. Just in case you want to keep a really huge promise.”

“In a gentle way, you can shake the world.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Mahatma Gandhi saw our compassion as a bank account, and that we determine the size of our own account. When he said “Breach of promise is no less an act of insolvency than a refusal to pay one’s debt”, he meant that our responsibility lies as much with the promise box as with the promise. The larger we choose our promise box to be, the larger the promises we can keep. Our promise box determines our capacity to contribute. When we choose the size of the box, we are choosing the size of our purpose.

“I’ll complete what I promised God I’d do, and I’ll do it together with his people.”
~ Bono, throughout the U2 Elevation Tour

At the age of 16, Paul Hewson answered a note on his Dublin high school bulletin board to join a new student band. After 18 months of practicing, the band won a talent show in Limerick and got the financing for their first record. The band change its name from “Feedback”, to “The Edge” to “U2”, and Paul changed his name from “Paul Hewson” to “Bono Vox” to just “Bono”. That was in 1978. In 1984, Bono took part in Live Aid, became exposed to the plight of the poor in Africa, and from that point on became involved in every major initiative to make poverty history.
