Just Say No Loudly & Clearly To Unethical Clients! >Have you ever been asked to do something unethical by one of your prospects or clients? Have you ever been pressured by a supervisor, manager or owner at your business to do something unethical? Have you ever observed unethical behavior by a prospect or client?In todays business world, there are daily instances of unethical behavior occurring all around us. What a sad commentary on business and society today. Over the more than 35 years in my own professional career, there have been instances where I have been approached by unethical prospects and clients and was fortunate to have had strong ethical mentors and supervisors, managers & owners that supported my actions to turn away from the unethical requests and to report them to my superiors.And later in my own business, I have made decisions to forego doing business with unethical prospects clients that meant turning away some very significant assignment I ask myself how could this have happened and now in looking back, obviously this was the only way I was ever going to extricate myself from the narcissist that I worked for who was more interested in finding a scapegoat for the failure of his business than he was in taking his share of the Are You a Netpreneur 23 years of loyalty and dedication and what did I get for it? Fired! Yes, I am down struggling to start a business, ostracized from a field that I was a leader in for over 20 years and financially on the edge, but do not count me out! Yes, I am trying to pull my life together and move on, but you cant move on without clearly understanding the past. If reading my story today compels one person to go into their office tomorrow and request that any and all promises of equity, stock, options, or promotion or compensation plans be verified in writing, then I will have accomplished my goal. If your requests are turned down start making plans to cut the cord and find another career opportunity, for you have just become expendable! I myself shook off the suggestions of good friends, advisors and family members when they questioned my unbridled loyalty with the lack of ink on a page. I shook them off for years, but I am telling you that in the end you will have nothing to show for it. I am sure I am not alone, but I am hopeful this elicits a response of others who have lived through the experience like I have and are glad to find a "kindred spirit" out here.Who is a netprenuer? Actually the word netpreneur brings images to mind of a young geek. A person in his early twenties who has the courage to break the conventional rules to build up an online business from scratch is our netpreneur. There was a time when netpreneurs were thought to be some kind of mythical creatures. They came from nowhere and made millions in the market. And that image is still itched out into the minds of many but to be honest these are just images. The reality is very different.The majority of netpreneur are still young but they are not some kind of eccentric genius. Anyone can be a netprenuer these days. That is the result of easy access to internet and the desire of people to take some risk and start their own online business venture. Netpreneurs are like any other entrepreneurs. I was in business with him for 23 years.
