Anyway, at my first copywriting job, people could EASILY see my incredible enthusiasm for my work when I presented. They instantly got a sense of how passionate I was about crafting my words and my copy.
I was the first person to arrive at the agency in the mornings and among the last to leave in the evenings. I worked weekends as if they were just another day. I LOVED everything about it. But my associates could also see something ELSE. Something I couldn't see.
It became quite clear that as good as my writing was... it felt 'rushed.' Yes, they agreed that it was solid. But to a person, they all felt that it had not been taken to that last tiny degree. And great advertising copy has to be taken that far.
