A Week in the Life of a Job-Hunter that pub. Reflecting back it was a great lesson on having fun in what you do.Hi all! I decided to do something new and different this time. Every day of this week, I wrote down some lines (sort of like a diary) with the idea of explaining the current events going on these days. I hope it helps you to get an idea of how the life of a job hunter (just like me) is like.Monday* I get up at 8am, it’s always hard to start a week but I am excited about what’s going to happen this week.* Made Business owners need to keep this in mind when running their businesses. I am, mostly to lost classic hair bands on my satellite radio. Having fun in what you do is critically important to the overall success of your business. If you are not having fun doing what you are currently doing, why are you doing it?When doing business abroad it is important to understand the local culture. Culture includes areas such as a country’s norms, values, behaviours, food, architecture, fashion and art. However, one area of culture that is important for the international business person is etiquette. Understanding business etiquette allows you to feel comfortable in your dealings with foreign friends, colleagues, customers or clients. Knowing wha You need to question why are you doing something if you are not enjoying it or having fun doing it. The fun factor is a critical component to retaining passion in your business and also a major step in just wanting to get out of bed in the morning. I remember when I was fourteen years old, I worked at a local pub as a dishwasher. I really enjoyed the first few months working there, I had a great boss and an excellent team. Management changes occurred and it stopped being fun. Now, remember that I was fourteen and fourteen year olds love to have fun. I did not enjoy heading to the pub for my shift. At that time I didn’t drive so I rode my bicycle to and from work. I remember trying to ride as slow as I could so it would take longer to get there. No fire in the belly, no passion to even step foot in the place. What happened was that in my brain, I was getting there faster. I eventually left that pub. Reflecting back it was a great lesson on having fun in what you do. Business owners need to keep this in mind when running their businesses. Now, since we are not teenagers anymore, what happens to the average employee? •Check out – Employees check out, they may be sitting there physically but they are not in tune with what is happening around them. They do not return phone calls or emails. They show up right on time and leave when the whistle blows at the end of the day. •Poison Factor – Employees that are not having fun in the office look for other things to replace the fun that is lacking in the work experience. This may be the enjoyment of spreading rumours or other gossip around the office. They also try hard to bring others down to their level of discontent. •They leave – when the workplace stops being fun, employees simply leave the organization. What are you doing as the business owner to create a fun environment that allows your team to flourish? Business owners today need to look in the mirror. They are the ones that create or allow the culture of fun in the workplace to develop. I have seen many business owners create a strict, no fun workplace and their business suffers.
