The Art of Search Engine Optimization-Creating an Internet Marketing Masterpiece
Is search engine optimization an art form? I think that in the final analysis of what we do to achieve top ratings on Google for a website url that it certainly would be. Looking closer at the details of this work, we discover a pattern of thinking and ideas that mold itself into the final product of a top position on a keyword phrase of our choosing. The process of taking a website and adding all the necessary elements that the search engine spiders are seeking is a never ending process. One never reaches the point where they say it is done. The internet is a constantly flowing entity. It changes from second to second and as people are striving for cherished positions, they must be in that flowing mode as well. The act that search engine optimization specialist follow is called testing. The testing process never reaches a point where it is no longer needed. In order to have an effec

Do You Market Your Small Business Like an Ant or Grasshopper? Being the Grasshopper is Bad
Business owners contact me because they want to grow their business, they want to attract new customers and they want to separate their business from the competition. They aren't as successful as they want to be, and as marketing/design specialist I need to find out why.During a sit down meeting I'll eventually ask her/him, "What is your current marketing strategy, and what are you doing to outreach and attract new customers?" But in my mind I am asking, "Are you an ant or a grasshopper?"More often than not, business owners that are as sharp as tacks get this curious, glazed-over expression on their face. After a about 5-10 seconds of uncomfortable silence they say with a sheepish look on their face, "We'll right now we're just relying on word of mouth advertising and referrals to sustain our business".I shudder when a client tells me this.
Years ago I worked as a computer technician for a large shipping company. Basically, I drove to client sites and installed or upgraded computer hardware and software. I liked the job. During March of 2000, gas prices started to rise in the U.S. The federal mileage reimbursement was not really compensating for the cost of gas. The majority of the technicians in the office wanted our employer to help us make up the difference in the cost of gas. Our supervisors were sympathetic. However, the general manager was not sympathetic at all. He said, that the cost of fuel was affecting everyone especially the company. He said the company had to fuel hundreds of trucks and planes. And customers did not expect the cost of shipping to increase due to an up tick in gas prices. Of course, everyone grumbled about what he said.

People Who Run Good Meetings: They Really Do Exist!
Most people hate going to meetings. They get tired of wasting time, off-the-topic discussions, and generally not accomplishing much. Each meeting participant bears a certain amount of responsibility in these situations, of course, but the majority of the blame falls squarely on the person charged with running, or facilitating, the meeting.A good chair knows how to make sure the meeting proceeds smoothly, makes the most of the time allowed, and that everyone who participates feels valued and heard.Common mistakes made by most people who run meetings Many people who run meetings have little training. They will make some common mistakes, such as:• Running the meeting in a dictatorial style • Giving his or her opinion first • Viewing themselves as "in charge" or "the boss" of the meeting • Ignoring quiet people or those who don't actively participate arch of 2000, gas prices started to rise in the U.S. The federal mileage reimbursement was not really compensating for the cost of gas. Boosting Your Business With A Merchant Account
The great majority of business conducted online is processed with a credit card. Also, credit card sales tend to be four times larger than a sale completed any other way. Knowing that most people decide to use a credit card and spend more when doing so, it only makes sense to be able to accept credit card payments. The first step to being able to accept credit card payments is getting a merchant account. A merchant account is a special type of bank account that is able to receive payments from credit card purchases. Along with your account you will also need a hardware or software solution to actually process the payments, but this doesn't have to be supplied by the company providing your merchant account. For online credit card processing there is one extra step, you also need a payment gateway. Records Management And Its Key Role In Business Continuity And Disaster Recovery
The UK’s Records Management Society defines records management as, “the process by which a company manages all the elements of records whether externally or internally generated and in any format or media type, from their inception/receipt, all the way through to their disposal”. In this digital age many organisations have set up comprehensive systems to ensure that electronic records are safely stored and backed up, with a plan in place should an unexpected crisis occur. This makes a great deal of sense since some estimates suggest that over 90% of businesses that have had a major data processing disaster will go out of business within 5 years. These days most employees rely on electronic systems to do their job and lost or damaged files can spell disaster. However while IT systems are often carefully considered and any perceived emergencies planned for, paper records can frequen

Over the next three months, the price of gas rose .27. Now the grumbling had turned into complaining. Our supervisors attempted to shorten our routes as to save miles. It worked as long as a technician did not have to drive to multiple client sites.

Normally we had to return to the office to clock out. Sometimes a client site would be near a technician's home or after work destination but he would have to drive back to the office to clock out. The trip could cost an additional fill up per week.

By July, the complaining had reached the general manager. He called a meeting described as resolving our gas issues. Every technician in the group attended the meeting. There were rumors that we would receive gas cards, coupons for oil changes, or just be heard. The day of the meeting came. The general manager walked in and said, we would not receive anything but the federal gas milea
