I just do not agree on how many of them do it. Reading an interview of an ex-debt collector I think he said it best, “Nice don’t get you money, Nasty gets you the money.” This is how many of them operate. There is good news and bad new about this.
Bad news, it sucks. Having heard audiotapes of actual phone calls, it is not nice having someone call you who is good at threats on the phone. It can really be frightening to listen to all the things, they say, they are going to do to your life.
Good news, once they do this and you have them on tape they are done for. You call a lawyer and say, "I am in debt and the company I owe money to have sent a thug debt collector to collect. Can you help me sue them?" Many lawyers will take the case because it is against the law, in most areas, to use threatening language for debt collecting. Once you file against the company if that does not stop them, you tape it again and it gets worse for them.
Of course the best thing you can do for yourself is to structure some kind of repayment plan and pay your way out of debt and get onto becoming wealthy. I do not agree with how most debt collector’s work. I also do not agree with people that work on dodging payment of debt. There are all kinds of reasons people are in debt, many of them are good reasons. If you find yourself under a mountain of debt for a good reason and your debt collector does not understand, then I wrote this information for you.
